چکیده
Microtubules are dynamic structures regulated by post-translational modifications called a tubulin code. The pictured jester's cap ‘n’ bells resembles disassembling microtubules—a catastrophe—with the illustrating C-terminal tyrosine on tubulins. One is replaced our chemical proteomics probe, which being attached tubulin-tyrosine ligase. juggling amino acids of proteins animate tyrosination cycle. background fluorescence imaging picture showing distribution tyrosination-probe labelled in neuroblastoma cells. Cover Picture: Detection of mRNA in Mammalian Cells with a Split Ribozyme Reporter (ChemBioChem 6/2006)
The cover picture shows a split RNA reporter strategy for detecting target mRNA in mammalian cells. A tetrahymena group I intron ribozyme reporter is split into two halves, each of which carries a part of the coding sequence of the reporter mRNA, a fragment of the ribozyme, and an antisense sequence complementary to a target mRNA. Both halves bind with the target mRNA and are assembled into an ...
متن کاملPreference for attractive faces in human infants extends beyond conspecifics.
Human infants, just a few days of age, are known to prefer attractive human faces. We examined whether this preference is human-specific. Three- to 4-month-olds preferred attractive over unattractive domestic and wild cat (tiger) faces (Experiments 1 and 3). The preference was not observed when the faces were inverted, suggesting that it did not arise from low-level image differences (Experimen...

15 صفحه اولA Chemical Proteomics Approach to Reveal Direct Protein-Protein Interactions in Living Cells.
Protein-protein interactions mediate essential cellular processes, however the detection of native interactions is challenging since they are often low affinity and context dependent. Here, we develop a chemical proteomics approach in vivo CLASPI [iCLASPI] (in vivo crosslinking-assisted and stable isotope labeling by amino acids in cell culture [SILAC]-based protein identification) relying upon...
متن کاملChemical proteomics reveals bolinaquinone as a clathrin-mediated endocytosis inhibitor.
The emerging field of mass spectrometry-based chemical proteomics provides a powerful instrument in the target discovery of bioactive small-molecules, such as drugs or natural products. The identification of their macromolecular targets is required for a comprehensive understanding of their bio-pharmacological role and for unraveling their mechanism of action. We report the application of a che...
